Dorcas assists flood victims in Albania

On November the 28th 2010 an enormous flood in Bushat region submerged 14.000 hectares under water, at some places up to 5 meter. 710 houses were destroyed and many people displaced. On December the 28th the truck from Dorcas arrived late in the evening to the Humanitarian Centre in Barbullush. Two days later the distribution of food started in 4 central points to the affected area in presence of the distribution organization and the mayor. People receiving food packages, in total 3.500, expressed great happiness and gratitude. Nonetheless, the need is still big. Children must go to school in two shifts because there are not enough tables and chairs to sit on. Also beds and mattresses are needed, as more than 3.000 people are sleeping on the floor now. In order to cover this need, Dorcas is now preparing a second truck with 150 school tables and chairs, and 100 beds and mattresses. We are praying to God that more trucks full of beds and mattresses can be sent in the close future.
